1on40
Hello all,
Its been ages since I was here ! The is due to major work loads. Anyway to my surprise I have a few fans of this little Blog I got going. So what’s new in Seo land ? Lots and lots of stuff that’s what .. But first off have a read of a post I put up on Scam.com, its about this new 1on40.com Seo miracle
I got an email this morning from an affiliate of 1on40 to my business email see below
“I emailed you a few days ago but never got a reply.
I wanted to know if you would send me some details about
your business/es as I think I have found a perfect way to
market/promote & want as diverse selection of businesses as
possible to spread my profits to ensure I get paidout.
I’d have liked to join your business as it sounds
real exciting.
Send me your latest offer/s and where I can sign up, please.”
So I replied to it with this response
“Sorry Jenny can you please explain what business of mine you want to
join. also how did you get my email or from whom did you get it from , you have to forgive me for the blunt
questions but have no idea who you are !”
Less than 5 seconds later this comes back !
“Thank you for the email. I’m really desperate to find a few businesses as I’ve got an excellent way to market/promote & cannot afford to keep all my comms$ in one company/business (not keep all my eggs in one basket).
I’ve already got one business and got it to ‘number one’ (1st) result on Google & Yahoo ‘without paying a cent’ or sending 1 email & made ‘158,000US$’ in the last few months only.
Send your existing web site/page to ‘number one’ on Google & Yahoo without cost or sending 1 email: (affiliate link ) it’ll cost you ‘*zero/nothing*’ to get >>>$158,000USD like I did”
Anyway I checked it out and I had to laugh my ass off Why ! Because I have been an Seo for over five years there is no way in hell that you can achieve top rankings in such a short space of time.
Here is a few
1. New domains take up to a year or more to rank for competitive keywords , hence the form of long tail search ‘lower competition’ or you can invest in an aged domain.
2. Site structure and optimisation of content take a lot of time
3. Inbound links must be of quality ‘not blog rush’ links.
I will say it again There are over 101 factors to Seo, my view is that 1on40 is rubbish, there is no search engine submitter in the world that can help you to get a number one spot . search engine submitters only help to notify search engines to index your site , after that indexing can take anywhere between 2 -3 weeks unless you get a link from high traffic aged site. So what happens next ? Fun and games ! your site gets subjected to ranking algorithms hence the need to higher an seo. So if the ability to get traffic was as easy as 1-2-3 then I would most likely be out of a job.
My word of advice Just like smoking say No!!
I will be posting more stuff on Seo soon so keep checking
Stay cool

I had just found this website a few days ago. Was wondering if it was true. No surprise it’s garbage.
Very few people know how SEO works so it’s easy to scam people. I would like you to check out MyEasySubmitter and Spin Success. I get a lot of emails from these two. Thanks

Would love to know the story behind the story.

Yes Matthew it is true you can rank high for particular keywords, they are mostly low competition that return results under a thousand. when working with new sites i would target long tail search, I will write a post on the art of long tail.1on40 allow you to pick any keywords no matter how competitive they are, it’s impossible to reach a top ten spot for high competition keywords on that basis.

Hey, I just signed up with 1on40, then ran in to you. If I don’t give them any money how can that be a rip off? I little about seo and am just trying to increase traffic. I waisted thousands on ppc, spend about 10 hours a day doing press releases, and just want to grow my company. Any thoughts or perhaps quotes on real seo.
Thanks,

Just to let you know i never said it was a rip off. my view is that 1on40 are a useless and dangerous tool to use that may result in your site been banned from search engines. for better understanding of seo please read this post here http://seodude.wordpress.com/2007/07/27/seo-specifications-for-websites/ it will give you a fare idea on what needs to be done apart from working on optimized press releases, have you got a blog attached to your site that may help you too.

I tried there service out. I’ll see if they can do it. I put in some tough keywords like free and free money. I’m slowly but surely learning about SEO as I specialize more in monetizing sites. I guess I need to come back here with an update.

My wife and I own a retail store and we have a combination of our store products and dropship on this site. I have had it for 8 months now and not one sale. I am not a computer expert and certainly no SEO expert. This site was bought from Network Solutions and they have been marketing SEO for two or three months now and still no results. I am confused and lost as to what to do with this site to make it successful. There is so much garbage out there I don’t know what to believe anymore! Can you please review this site and tell me what could be done or if I should just cut my losses now. Thank you!

My goodness me. Anyone will try and live off the back of a real successful company. You are an SEO! dude… SEO’s are a breed unto themselves. You call us a scam without even knowing ONE thing about what we do. SEO’s are the biggest scam out and perhaps, that’s right PERHAPS you are one.
You latch on to our good name and attempt to raise your name and business using our good name to generate enquiries to your business. Did you know that is quite illegal in the UK?
You way of doing business is ‘white hat’ and you have ZERO idea what can be done with the approval of Google because you are too busy attempting to usurp the good name of a company that’s really doing well! And believe me we are!
We do not charge a cent/penny until clients see their web site/URL at NUMBER ONE position on Google and Yahoo PLUS 100’s of other search engines.
We take ‘nor ask for any PayPal or bank or credit card details during sign up or at ay time thereafter.
You have judged us prematurely… And you will pay…. Your obscure name will be oblivion. WHY? HOW?
We challenge you to a duel, that’s how!
We will give you a URL from the Web that has nothing to do with your personal gain and you MUST get it to the highest level as possible using your knowledge. 1on40 will take 100 clients from their client list and up them to NUMBER ONE position and publish their URLS here in 90 days.
Let us see who is the winner! You have ONE we have 100. Who do you reckon will win SEODUDE…????
Fairgame your reputation is on the line. Our reputation is on the line… We will win and that’s that! Your reputation is history. You are a dinosaur. try moving with the times and keep up with what’s what.
You are going to lose.
If you wnat to verify this post on SEODUDES ‘marketing’ thread/blog/whatever then email contact@1on40.com thats all it takes.
We’ve thrown down the gauntlet SEODUDE! Pick it up and run with it… we will take it nice and easy and wipe you out.
OK accept the competition SEODUDE right here DUDE and we begin!

Ooops by the way I do see this blog is FREE, blogs usually are aren’t they? However, the whole point of a blog is to capture an active participating audience and then convert them. Good luck converting or reaining your name after you’ve lost.
And just so we understand we have 100 urls to get to #1 you’ve only got 1 and that seems one sided? Hmm don’t really think so unless somewhere along the line 100 is less than 1 and we missed it!
Posted 2-5-2008
s0ftw4re888
So that’s one URL for you to get to the top of Google, Yahoo and the other 38 top search engines for 5 keywords total.
We, 1on40.com have to do 100 to the top 40 search engines for 5 keywords.
All new URLS in our client base and they will be a mix of industries (to include at least 1 in the same industry as the 1 we give you to attempt to get to #1) and unlinked to.
Yours could be any industry we choose.
Any other super SEO’s up for the same challenge to destroy your name and ever so expensive KUDOS?
Let us know…
We’re happy just like our clients are you?
Before anyone wants to challenge our authenticity try our SEO challenge in the future… Thanks for your true understanding

O.K,
I’m not a guru but I have been around a while and I have to admit this sounds like one of those “too good to be true” scenarios. However, the proof of the pudding is in the eating and i’ll reserve judgement for now.
I’ll give these guys a try with some reasonably competetive keywords (but sensible) and we’ll see what happens.
The site I have in mind has no Adsense and i’m not too worried if it gets de-indexed so there is nothing to lose.
If they fulfill their bold claims then I will more than happily pay for their services. If not then I will be honest with the results.

yes this blog is free just like my advice , if your so good at what you do how come your site is not in the top ten for seo services . listen pal grow up and stop being such a child if you have so many clients then you have noting to worrie about ,as you can see by most of the comments people can make their own decisions if your the real deal or not .

Reversing SEODUD? The challenge is for the taking, make a fool out of us or we’ll make it out of you. We always take up a challenge and you challenged our authenticity. Are you going to rise and stop being so prissy and prove you can SEO better than 1on40.com can?
Since you started the childish hurling accusations we will not stop until;
A: You apoligise
B: Take us up on the challenge – even though YOU will fail 100%
We have no issues apart from the likes of you dishing out your unfounded opinion and casting it to make a name for yourself in the long term! And that is what you are doing whether you deny it or not.
Get real you might even find legal challenges to your actions you never know SEODUD…
Simple matter of physics… Push and you’ll cause friction. You pushed now take the challenge and then get on with what you are supposed to do best, i.e. SEO’ing. You are going to lose out from here on in, did you think you were going to get such an easy ride, riding off the back of our name on the search engines like a leach. Give it a break.
To answer why we are not at top of the search engines for the lost common keys is simple to answer – to allow our affiliates to take business and make money from being there. A lot of the companies you do see are actually using our service, believe it or not… And just maybe you are too.
To clarify;

We do nothing to damage your results thats why we get you to the 1st result. We do nothing against the TOS of any search engine and in fact are approved by Google and Yahoo which it states quite clearly on the 1on40.com web site.
Lost? The technical side of the service is our responsibility you just submit your site’s URL and we do the rest. We do not breach TOS of any search engine and have had our service looked at by the top 40 search engines without an issue.
People who claim that what we do is untrustworthy don’t have any insight and are just plain envious that we can do something they cannot.
We will not be posting any more on drifter’s blogs or web sites in response to this or any other issue created by people who have and enjoy gossiping when they could be working for a revenue.

As you know i wrote a review on 1on40.com that got a good response. My intention was not to sabotage or attack them i was expressing my views on the knowledge i have learned and used over the years. A part of my job is to educate and help people better understand what we do and how to go about it yourself. So yes i prematurely judged them on the basis of their Bold claim of obtaining a client the top spot for any 5 keywords in a space of 120 days for free. If 1on40 are the next generation Seo’s then i take my white hat off to them as nearly all of us will be out of work in no time. I have no reason to have to prove myself in any way as those of you who know me , know the long term results you have obtained from my free work. What i will say is that 1on40 you are an aggressive company and could have approached me on a better level, I do apologize to you 1on40 if you felt i was trying to de-serp or take your traffic as that was not my intention either. I will continue to educate and help those who have no fundamental understanding of seo and you continue doing what you do and we shall not cross paths again . One request that i have is that 1on40 address their affiliates for their own sake and ask them to provide an opt out link as currently they don’t.

1on40 is an absolute joke. Just look at the submission form; it asks for your country of choice. Apparently, 1on40 can also manipulate where your traffic is coming from.
And for everybody’s information, Google themselves have stated that ” No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google.” For anybody even thinking of using this company’s ’services’. Please be forewarned by the search engine giant themselves…
http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?answer=35291&query=seo&topic=&type=
Also, how can you trust a company who’s representatives tend to be very unprofessional and childish…
“Are you going to rise and stop being so prissy and prove you can SEO better than 1on40.com can?”
“Any other super SEO’s up for the same challenge to destroy your name and ever so expensive KUDOS?”
“And you will pay…. Your obscure name will be oblivion.”
…and that’s just from this one representative here. Look for affiliates of 1on40 on forums and read their replies to critics. I read one thread where the affiliate called somebody ’stupid’ for asking a simple question.
Seriously, can you blame people for being skeptics when you guarantee something as big as you do. Your ‘testimonials ‘ sound completely far-fetched for such a new service. And, who is the Submit Expresso Group. If they do exist, they certainly don’t show up on Google’s SERPs. Talk about “live(ing) off the back of a real successful company”. Ever hear of Submit Express?

I am personally interested (because I am also thinking of using your service 1on40)…
what happens when my page is on Number One in Google? WIll you inform me then automatically… and will it always take 120 days or sometimes less? and also affiliate urls? really? do I have to pay afterwards. Now ok it’s free. but when I am on the first place, what happens then, Am I forced to pay you something or can I cancel after 7 days when you automatically drop the site back? or better to say when I not pay, am i Binded to you, do I have to pay in any situation? Just need to know if there is any capture in unknown costs involved? like being – how to say – captured in costs. You have no FAQs that really explain what’s going on? how do I know… how it goes on afterwards? … please be so kind as to explain that to me?
Kind regards
Chris

or doN#T I have to pay then? just if I want to ensure that my keywords stay on top? otherwise it stays free?

Hey Dude,
I t-totally agree, this has to be scam of some sort or a case of not having a clue. Regardless, I went to ClickBank and found a program that pays close to $100 bucks per sale. Then went to Google’s AdWords tool and got the top 5 common terms for the site. Then signed up with the CB site and 5 keywords. I believe that is a fair test.

Well, it simply cannot work. It is a scam. Think about it for one min. Ok, you register your site and it gets to no.1 within 120 days and they leave it there for 7 days. Then you have to bid on your choosen keywords to keep your site their for another 120 days. This bidding war happens every 120 days. NOW here is where it smells BIG TIME . Say I have been outbidded. This new website that takes over my keywords takes 120 days to get to the top for the same keywords. Then a new auction begins. So in effect, this new site only is on top of 7 days. Then this new site could be outbid again . So , infact they cannot guarantee you to be at the top for 3 months with your chosen keywords . The maths simply don’t add up

Nothing like an aggressive response from a professional ? company Reminds me of some of the comments on my blog. I might just write a post on 1on40 giving my own opinions. ( I am pretty sure I am allowed to do that on my own blog )
The way they have conducted themselves on here I wouldn’t give them access to my pocket calculator let alone my website. Just for the record.
I don’t apologise, I dont retract and I love legal action.

I got into it with 1on40, AKA s0ftw4re888, Steve Hopkins, Submit Express on scam.com and it ended up with him threating me and saying he will run my site off the internet and the only way I will be able to get back on is to pay them, which is extortion.
I have filed a formal complaint with our Canadian RCMP regarding the extortion.
Not that I believe him but I do object to being threatened by a a low life like Hopkins.
I think his claim of being able to “run me off the internet” are in the same class as his highly unlikely “testimonials” and his press release where the company states they turned down a $100,000,000 (One Hundred Million USD) bid from Ask.com.
Incidentally false statements made in email advertising is illegal.
I would think that the email from “Jenny” stating “I’ve already got one business and got it to ‘number one’ (1st) result on Google & Yahoo ‘without paying a cent’ or sending 1 email & made ‘158,000US$’ in the last few months only.” would fall into that category.
Deceptive commercial email also is subject to laws banning false or misleading advertising and can be subject to fines up to $11,000. Forward copies to spam@uce.gov.
Best of luck all

Hi Reg,
you know this is a war with 1on40 but i have a feeling it will end sometime soon. As you can see i took a bashing just like you did and if this go’s legal who’s gonna win ? Seo’s of course ! unless 1on40 open up to an inside investigation to prove that their methology is infact above board.
then there is still the side of the heavy insulting and threats sent by 1on40 and can be seen by the public.
so i think you made the right move in reporting the current situation, if it gets put in he hands of the FTC and 1on40s claims of been backed by google, yahoo and turning down ask.com are denied by those search giants then i guess there will be hell to pay on their behalf as we would be the least of 1on40s Problems as Google does not take that sort of thing too well at all.

February 14th 2008 – Valentines Day
Corporate News: The proprietary software company Submit Expresso Group who own and operate the search engine submission service 1on40 has been approached by Search Engine giants Ask.com as a buyout. Submit Expresso Group has turned down the offer of over 100 Million US Dollars for the company as its intention is to list the business on the London Stock Exchange in August 2008 which is not only more beneficial to its founders but also to its clients and affiliates alike. A buyout at this time is out of the question as the value of the company will be tenfold once the client base has grown to 10 million as projected by its stock flotation in August 2008.
With the end of Beta stage looming at the end of March 1on40 is expected to see first gross profit of over £30 Million GBP which will establish it the main SEO in the world. Having established itself in hard to break market using a free Beta version will have added to its overall value which will be paid out as dividends to its numerous loyal affiliates in August 2008 on flotation.

Yeah, it’s good to report it Reg, although most likely nothing will happen.
Unfortunately, the web just hasn’t caught up to the criminals yet. Most get away with it.
1on40’s behavior on scam.com should drive plenty of potential “testers” away.
Only a couple months until this one officially proves to be a failure and then we’ll see the next one pop up. It never ends.

depends if its country specific. I am number one out of 512,00 pages and my domain was registered oct-27th. I got a .com to a number one of 518,000 pages in less than 2 months, again – no crappy blog posting or registering accounts at svg to post irrelevant links.
I tried the 1on40 site. No adverts and didn’t ask me for a credit card. Didn’t even ask for my address. The projected earnings and testimonials came across as completely bogus however and I too do think its rediculous to think they can get you to number one for all 40 terms in 3 months.
but whats the risk?? I can’t see any harm in trying out 1of40 and your the only site on the net giving them a bad review

Hi again seodude.
Well as I announced in the thread where 1on40 challenged me, “Challenge us and get made a fool of or make a fool of us!!!”, I took him up on the “offer”.
If you Google “1on40 reviews” (no quotes) you will see my 1on40-reviews.info website in #1 (or #3 depending on the Google database you are using), (Screen Shot http://1on40-reviews.info/images/search-listings-1on40_reviews-feb26.gif)
This site was started Feb 14 and took 12 days to reach #1.
So far I have not noticed any traffic decrease on my site that he was “going to run off the internet”.

Your 1 and 2 on my serp results. When they issued the challenge to me they were going to give me a domain of their choice and all that jazz. i never got an answer to if i was able to access and work with the site. they just kept on mashing at me.
I would say now that with a little content tweak you will out rank them for their own domain name in a few days of so. by the time your finished with 1on40 there will be nothing left of them Lol.
your gonna go down in the seo hall of fame any day soon

Nowhere do they clarify how ‘top position’ will be achieved but you all seem to be assuming it will be SEO, however it sounds more like a Pay Per Click scam and the money is made on commissions from the search engines. Thats how they can gaurantee the ‘top position’. The business agrees to pay for top position but what happens if they can’t afford it? £10,000 per day for some terms or more once that plits across multple networks. Avoid like the plague.

Threatening a reviewer with legal action shows pretty poor grasp of the law, as well.
The company is using bully tactics, and this representative can’t even write in a professional manner.
Stay far away, in my opinion. There are plenty of ways to get traffic. They just involve hard and honest work.
And there IS a chance that joining 1in40 could harm your traffic, because Google and other search engines are constantly monitoring services like this, and penalizing those which it feels are not using fair and legitimate means. They are constantly refining their algorithms to avoid skewed search results. Remember when keyword stuffing worked? Now it doesn’t. Why? The search engines determined that anyone using that trick probably didn’t have a good site, and downgraded those that used it.
I would be cautious of using any service that smacks of that kind of trick.
There are plenty of legitimate ways to drive traffic.
Create a presence on sites like Facebook, Myspace, Blogcatalog, etc. and participate in some relevant groups.
Leave comments with USEFUL and not merely self-promoting content.
Blogroll, lensroll, or recommend other blogs or webpages related to your topic.
Include keywords in your headers.
Oh, the list goes on and on, but here… the techniques I used to get Pagerank 3 and 4 webpages over about the course of 6 months (admittedly with the help of Squidoo, which does give you a leg up if you use it for pages with real honest-to-gosh content):

Any one looking for SEO services should understand that this type of guarantee is impossible and is a scam. If it wasn’t, how do long do you really think that any secret like this could exist in the SEO community in which billions of dollars are spent every year on search. The people who fall for this stuff should really be the ones held accountable for not thinking straight. It’s just like the old story of having some land in Florida to sell ya…lol.
And s0ftw4re888, how are you approved by Google? Google has no certification for organic SEOs. Furthermore, it is quite apparent from their own writings that no one can guarantee what you claim to do unless you are optimizing site for some long tail obscure word that has no competition.
